I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. My first realization of this happened when one of my client's mother-in-law sent me a critique of my birth plan and a list of what else I should be including in it. I wrote her a nice little note back stating that the birth plan reflects the wishes of her son and daughter-in-law and any changes to said birth plan would have to be made by the couple themselves. She's the one paying for my services so that her daughter-in-law can have a natural birth, but it seems to me that the daughter-in-law doesn't really care how her birth goes, and it's the mother-in-law who wants the natural birth. Unfortunately, I have to honor the wishes of the mother-to-be, regardless of who is paying. :)
How do I get myself in these situations?
