fetal echo day
Today we met with a pediatric cardiologist from Children's Hospital of Michigan. Because our Charlie was born with a heart defect, all subsequent children will have to be screened for congenital heart defects also. Today was baby Katie's day to be screened. Oh, we choose the name Kate Mackenzie for our baby girl just so you know who I'm referring to as Katie. So baby Katie's heart was closely examined today and found to be in perfect health. I'll be able to birth in a normal hospital this time instead of a special one attached to the children's hospital which is many miles from our home. They got every single angle of her heart since she rolled the entire time he did the ultrasound. The pediatric cardiologist was pleased that he got to see everything because usually babies aren't this cooperative with letting them see from every angle. Yay! I feel like a small weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Beth, I clicked over to your blog from Stacy's because your profile pic has caught my eye for weeks now.
I just read through your archives, and first and foremost, I am sorry for your loss of Charlie. I know time does not heal all wounds.
Congrats on your baby girl. I love the name you have chosen for your daughter.
I see that we both graduated in 98, and we're currently neighbors (I live in Toledo). And, by the way, from the few pics you've posted -- you are gorgeous. =) Just wanted to make sure to thrown that in as well.
I've enjoyed reading your blog today. I am about 2 weeks out from my 2nd m/c -- twins, at 9w. Ugh. So I related to a lot of your earlier posts.
Anyway, wanted to introduce myself. Best of luck with your pregnancy.
Great news! We love the name too! Rexy and I just wanted to remind you that we think of you guys and check your blog constantly. Hopefully we can get together real soon. Did you get a postcard in the mail recently?
We did get the postcard! :) We're still trying to iron out thanksgiving details with the family, but so far things are looking up and we may actually make it this year! :)
