lights and sirens

I got pulled over tonight. I found it hilarious! I was sitting at a stoplight, and I noticed that there was a cop behind me.. No worries though because I am the PERFECT driver. The light turns green, I go through the intersection, and then WHAM.. lights and sirens.

WTF?? I thought maybe I must have had a headlight out because there was no other reason he could be pulling ME over. So I pull over, and the first question he asks me is "do you always drive like that?" I say, "like what?" and he says " so fast". So I say, "well, I was only driving 59 miles an hour in a 55 zone, so I didn't think I was going THAT fast."

Well, turns out I was in a 35 mile an hour zone. I was going almost 25 miles an hour over the speed limit.

When he told me I was going 60 in a 35 I said.. and I quote "Shut up! Nu uh!" I was flabbergasted that I was in a 35 mile an hour zone, because speeding is NOT my thing. I guess the officer was charmed by my smile, or something because he said "I've never ever let anyone go for going 25 miles over the speed limit, but you're lucky I'm in a good mood." He let me go with a warning because I had a squeeky clean driving record and because I truly was surprised that I was speeding. I seriously thought the speed limit was 55. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out how fast I was going. I repeatedly thanked him for letting me go.. and he smiled a big smile and so did I.

The cop was a hottie by the way. :)
