a day for hearts turns into the search for a kidney..

On Valentine's day, Corey and I found out some shocking news. We found out that Corey's dad is in stage 4 of renal failure. (Stage 5 is the worst and considered end stage renal failure) He was only born with one kidney, and for some reason that remaining kidney is functioning at only 22%. At 15% he would have to be put on dialysis. They told him that they could put him on a cadaver list for a transplant, but that waiting list is 2 years long and he doesn't have that much time. His only options at this point is to undergo testing to see if he's a candidate to receive a kidney in the first place, and then to find a donor who can supply a kidney. Both donor and recipient have to undergo testing to see if they're a match. Of course Corey and I will both get tested, as will the rest of his family. Please pray for our family during this difficult process.
