2009 was such a fabulous year. It brought me joy and love by bringing me my Katie. I'm hoping and praying that 2010 will be just as fabulous. We're expecting an arrival in early August. It hasn't been the crazy roller-coaster that it was with Katie. We found out we were expecting the day after Thanksgiving and had an early ultrasound which showed bleeding around the sac. They termed my pregnancy as a "threatened abortion." I never felt scared or anxious about it, which is odd because if they had said the same thing about Katie's pregnancy I would have flipped out. I let it go, and decided that there was nothing I can do to change the outcome of this pregnancy besides to do what I already was. I took my progesterone, baby aspirin, prenatal vitamins and extra folic acid. Then I waited.. and waited... and waited...
Yesterday was the follow-up ultrasound to see if one of two things happened -- option a) we lost the baby due the bleeding, or option b) the bleeding had resolved and everything was fine.
We were blessed with option b. The baby measured 9 weeks with a heart rate of 178. There were no signs of bleeding around the sac. The little bean squirmed for us.
:)
2010 could be a fabulous year -- now it's time to sit back and enjoy the ride.
