Today started out to be FABULOUS and is coming to an end on a not so fabulous note..
My family came up early from out of state. They got here ate breakfast and then helped me make food. They played with Katie and kept her occupied while all the food prep was happening. Around 1pm we headed to my brother and sis-in-law's house. We all had a fantastic holiday feast with all the trimmings.
Here's where it started going down-hill. My new sister-in-law was there with my brother. She's a feisty individual to say the least. Well a couple month's back there was this whole fiasco that involves my brother's bachelor party. Without getting into the details, lets just say all of those men involved got in trouble by their significant others. Nothing too serious, just dumb drunk boys and a strip club -- which you can pretty much expect at any bachelor party. So tonight after dinner my father was meaning to poke a little fun and said "I think we should have a one year anniversary party of the bachelor party." We all chuckled a little bit and thought that was the end of it, but no, my sister-in-law flew into a blind rage and charged at my husband, 2 brothers and dad and yelled at them. Then she stormed off into the bathroom where she cried for a while before emerging. So then there was obviously an awkward silence afterwards and people started to make their ways to their cars to go home.
It gets better folks..
So we get home, and DH declares that he's not feeling too well. He went and laid down for a while and I took care of Ms. Kate. I put my sweet Katie to bed for the night after playing for a little bit. A short while later DH runs into the bathroom and starts tossing his cookies. DH NEVER pukes so it's a little bit alarming to me that he fell ill so quickly and so violently.
Today being Kate's first Thanksgiving, I had high hopes and even higher expectations on how today was going to go. I never thought that there were be any family tension with a little bit of puking thrown in the mix.
I hope everyone else had a beautiful and bountiful Thanksgiving! I know I have so much to be grateful for and I am thankful each and every day!
