Aunt Flo arrived, of course while I was attending a birth...
The birth ended in a big fat C because after a trillion interventions that the mom didn't want, but agreed to for the safety of herself and the baby. I think the doctor figured "hey, you got me out of bed at 3 a.m. to come here, so I'm gonna cut you so I can go back to bed." (Sorry if that sounds crude but that's the impression I got from the doc.)
The last two births I attended ended in c-sections. I'm starting to wonder if I'm a crappy doula (people swear I'm not) or if it's just the luck of the draw. I guess if I'm the only one to cry tears of frustration in the bathroom when nobody is looking then I'm doing what I'm supposed to do. If the mother and father are happy with the birth experience because they have a healthy baby then that's all that matters, right?
I swear I've attended normal, natural births where everyone (including me) goes home happy!
Back to sleep now that I've cleared my head, and taken an advil.
:)

ugh. i'm sad. i'm not going to tell you to be patient, because it's hard to be..just know our thoughts and prayers are with you!!! and for now, go enjoy a big glass of wine!!! i miss that!
and well, for the whole c-section thing...i know it's gotta suck to see c-section after bloody c-section, but at least you get to help a woman deliver a healthy screaming baby!!
Well, I guess overall I have a good track record. :) Out of all my births, I only have 2 c-sections. They just happened to be back to back.
